For the second time in 21 days, President Muhammadu Buhari, was again, absent from the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting which held yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Seeking more time to recuperate, Buhari directed his deputy, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to preside over the gathering.

The president’s absence from the FEC meetings has generated public interest leading to speculations about his health because that is where the developmental agenda for a given time is set by the government, Guardian reports.
Vanguard reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday, rebuffed claims of official harassment of family members of his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, insisting that claims to the contrary were only being echoed by those with skeletons to hide.
Buhari’s assertion which was upon remarks attributed to Dr. Jonathan in the new book- “Against The Run of Play”, written by Mr. Segun Adeniyi.

Ex- President Obasanjo has alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan and his loyalists turned Boko Haram to ATM, according to a report in The Nation newspaper.
He also said he warned ex-President Goodluck Jonathan against assigning the Ministry of Petroleum Resources to Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former minister.

He said Jonathan ignored him and the nation could feel the consequences..
He said he asked Jonathan not to seek a second term ticket in office in line with the agreement he had reached with prominent Northern leaders.
He said although Jonathan enlisted Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo on January 12, 2015 at the Hilltop residence in Abeokuta to beg him, he said he stood his ground that Jonathan must abide by the one term agreement.
Punch reports that the Peoples Democratic Party and Civil Liberties Organisation have criticised President Muhammdu Buhari’s decision to perform his official roles from home.

Buhari was absent from a meeting of the Federal Executive Council inside the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo presided over the meeting. Buhari did not also attend the FEC meeting last week, with the Presidency attributing his absence to the Easter holiday.
Meanwhile, according to a report by This Day, Chief Bola Tinubu, has revealed that when he called Prof. Yemi Osinbajo to inform him that he had been chosen to be President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate to contest the 2015 presidential election, he (Osinbajo) was a bit hesitant.

Tinubu made the disclosure in the book, ‘Against the Run of Play – How an incumbent president was defeated in Nigeria,’ written by the Chairman of the This Day Editorial Board, Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi.
The book, which also delved into the circumstances that led to Tinubu being sidelined as Buhari’s running mate in the election, despite the prior agreement both men had reached when the APC was being formed that they would contest on a joint ticket, revealed that Senate President Bukola Saraki, other APC governors and senators led the charge to stop the pairing before the party’s presidential primary in Lagos.
