Egypt was Christian even BEFORE birth of Jesus Christ (photos, video)

- Many of Christianity’s customs and symbols can be traced back to Egypt

- Images of the cross are very much related to Ra

- The Holy Trinity and the figure of religious orders are also of Egyptian origin

Historians have documented Egypt’s relationship with religion in its long history, and many experts express the country has only changed its religious doctrine twice: first with Christianity in the 1st century AD, and then with Islam, in the 7th century.

Egypt has over 5,300 years of written history, where images commonly associated with Christianity can be seen in many depictions.

Ancient Egypt's cross, and its Christian counterpart... starkly similar!

Egypt managed to incorporate Christian icons and beliefs to its ancient religious customs. In fact, many are actually very similar. Take Christianity’s resurrection after death, reckoning, paradise and hell. All of these are essential in ancient Egyptian doctrine.

Some of these historians have even had the audacity to claim it was the Egyptian’s own religious features that looked Christian, even before Christ was born.

We have to remember Christianity was seen as a version of Judaism in the first century. The rest of the world was “pagan”, who saw early Christians as a Jewish sect rebelling against the Roman empire.

It was only when Christianity passed through Egypt, that it became an independent religion.

Virgin Mother and Child...

Christianity’s most important symbol is the cross, yet it was not so until the 4th century. These first four hundred years, they used the fish symbol, of greek origin ("Ichthys in Greek" or ΙΧΘΥΣ).

The cross is actually an ancient Egyptian symbol, "Ankh", and its meaning is eternity, or life after death… precisely what it means for Christians!

Egyptian Christians were the ones who started using the cross as a decorative element, slightly more slanted, but much like their ancestors used this symbol of Ankh, which was essentially Ra’s sail for the boat he used to cross over to the other life.

The Holy Trinity is also incredibly similar to Egypt’s oldest creed: the Father God Osiris, the Mother Goddess Isis, and the Son Horus, whom Isis gave birth to while still being a virgin… sounds familiar!

Many Isis temples started being transformed into churches very early on after Christ’s death, and their statues of Isis with Horus remodeled to look like the Virgin Mary with Jesus.

The traditional religious orders, so classical of Christianity can be traced to Egyptian habits as well. The first monk in history was Anthony the Great, who was born in Thebes, Egypt in 251. Before that time, Christians did not have monasteries.
