The Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi ll, has reacted to report that his emirate spent N6 billion left behind by the former emir saying it was false.
NAIJ.com had earlier reported that the Kano Emirate Council is under probe by the state government over alleged corruption.
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission opened an investigation into the Emirate’s accounts over allegations of ‘questionable expenditures.

It was alleged that Ado Bayero, the former late Emir and predecessor to Sanusi had left behind N6 billion in the coffer but this has been denied by his successor.
Daily Trust reports that Walin Kano, Alhaji Mahe Bashir Wali, spoke on behalf of the Emir explaining that Bayero left behind N2.9 billion.
According to Premium Times, he said the emirate has only spent N3.4 billion since Mr. Sanusi emerged emir in June 2014.
