Where is Father Mbaka, why is he silent?

Going through social media posts recently, and I was struck by a Facebook post that provoked my thoughts as regards engagement of clerics in the polity of Nigeria.

The post does not specifically call any names or point any fingers directly at anyone, but for those who are conversant with the politics of Nigeria in recent times, you need not be told that Reverend in question is most likely - Reverend Father Mbaka.

In reaction to Nwilo Bura Bari's post, many Nigerians found the silence of Reverend Mbaka very disturbing.

Why should he be quiet now, the man who predicted the fall of the Goodluck Jonathan administration and the rise of the Buhari-led government.

Some others claim that he is minding his business, as many have in the past asked him to do so, because they fell that men-of-god should not delve into politics.

Just about 3 months ago, Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, warned Nigerians against taking to heart the many prophecies of various clerics for the New Year 2017.

Omokri, in a tweet on Saturday, December 31, warned Nigerians not to allow themselves be swayed by the predictions of prophets whose 2016 prophecies never came to pass.

Politics and religion in Nigeria have a very strong intertwined binding upon the people. However, many Nigerians believe that the players of this game are manipulating what should have been a lovely marriage.

At a time when so much is going on in Nigeria, many would expect that the Adoration Ministries leader will share a word or two as directed by the Lord, much so because the "Lord had in the past given visions regarding Nigeria and concerting very pertinent issues."

Below are a few issues which Nigerians would have loved to hear Father Mbaka share his thoughts on.

1. The prolonged stay of President Muhammadu Buhari in a strange land.

2. Economic transformations within Nigeria since the president's absence.

3. The performance of the acting president.

4. The continued push for Biafra even when Osinbajo is roaming the Niger-Delta, seeking for lasting peace.

5. The case against Apostle Suleiman as brought forward by a certain Canada based singer.

These are but a few topics which many would have thought would move the man of God to speak. But some would argue that one has to be guided before he or she can speak. Being that he is a man of God, he needs not speak except if he is directed by the spirit.

A bout a year ago, the prominent Catholic cleric, revealed that great affliction awaits him in the new capacity which he has been mandated to serve.

The spiritual director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu (AMEN), made the disclosure before he departed Christ the King parish, GRA, Enugu on Saturday, January 30, 2016.

A ccording to reports, the clergyman left on that Saturday for his new duty post at Our Lady Parish, Umuchigbo, Njinike, saying that he was going to suffer.

Mbaka said however, that he would not fight anybody over the posting, noting that his posting out of Enugu was a witch-hunt.

The fiery priest was escorted by thousands of catholic faithful in Enugu to his new parish at Emene, an outskirt of Enugu urban. Sources say it was an exercise laced with emotions.

Mbaka who is adored by his thousands of followers, moaned about the challenges he would face at his new station.
