US President Donald Trump has in the recent past made sensational and unsubstantiated claims that his predecessor, Barack Obama, wire-tapped his phones just before the 2016 general elections, with the aim of undermining him. But in reaction, the Obamas have seemingly chosen to ignore Trump and continue enjoying their retirement in one peace.

The former Head of State was recently spotted with the ex-First Lady, Michelle Obama, leaving the National Gallery Of Art in Washington, DC. They smiled to the cameras and appeared totally unperturbed by the wild tweeter outburst that are being meted against Obama by Trump.
President Trump’s claims, unleashed in a series of rapid tweets, are reportedly baseless and to a great extent personal, as he has been unable to provide any evidence.

The president’s attempts to convince the Congress to look for proof to support his claims have also been met with numerous criticisms and roadblocks as political leaders from both sides of the divide and even investigating officials and agencies distance themselves from Trump’s rather reckless wire-tapping accusations.

Obama’s intelligence chief has reportedly said that no such action was ever taken, to the best of his knowledge. His position is shared by James Comey, director of FBI, who has reportedly asked the Justice Department to publicly denounce Trump’s accusations.

Though some Republican leaders are said to be considering Trump’s request for assistance with the investigation regarding his claims, political analysts argue that such a move will come with high risks for the president himself, especially if the House and the Senate intelligence committee can in the process of investigation uncover more damaging information about Trump and his associates.
