A former House of Representatives candidate for the Olamaboro federal constituency in Kogi state, Oguche Umoru Benjamin, on Frisay, October 7, said that for the government of Yahaya Bello to make impact in the state, he should look at the possibility of flushing out ghost workers from the state civil service, stating the existence of ghost workers is eating deep into the finances of the state.
In an e-mail to KULLOVE.com, Oguche who is the managing director of Umoru Benjo Enterprises responsible for the distribution of Dangote cement nationwide, said the ghost workers syndrome has infiltrated deeply into the state, noting that in all ministries, agencies and local governments, the ghost workers are receiving money from the coffers of the state government.
Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state needs to look into the issue of ghost workers.
According to him: “The ghost workers are part of the causes of hardship in the state. They are in all the ministries, some are receiving salaries from up to five ministries and the ones that are ladies get married and are working in the husband’s companies and still earn money from Kogi State government.”

He said for Yahaya Bello to get it right, he should launch a probe into all the ministries, commissioners, local government authorities and examine the records, saying with this there will be good recovery of funds for the government to move forward.
Oguche further said all those found guilty should be made to refund all they have stolen in a competent court of law, adding that even those serving in the present government and holding significant offices should not be left out.
