The Global Shapers Community is one of the World Economic Forum’s Foundations. Created in 2011 aiming to empower and engage the millennial generation in agenda shaping discussions and also to help them self-organize for impact.

31. Rapelang Rabana, Global Shaper, Cape Town Hub. Founder & CEO, Rekindle Learning
Featured on Forbes Africa Cover before 30 and named Entrepreneur for the World 2014 by the World Entrepreneurship Forum, Rapelang is a seasoned technology entrepreneur. She founded Rekindle Learning, a learning technology company that provides learning and performance support tools that improve the efficiency with which we learn, and reduce time to competency in corporate and academic environments. Rekindle Learning was profiled in the McKinsey report Lions go Digital: The Internet’s transformative potential in Africa as a ‘striking innovation’ in mobile learning
32. Raquel Jacobs, Global Shaper, Lagos Hub. Founder, Beyond the Classroom Foundation
In 2011, she founded Beyond the Classroom Foundation, an NGO focused on improving education for less privileged pupils in Public Primary Schools. Since then, she has been working directly with children and youths in marginalized communities in Lagos focusing on education and empowerment for girls. While in the University, she was selected as a Fellow with the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative of the US Consulate Lagos and recently got selected as a Fellow with Social Innovation Program of LEAP Africa.
33. Rewina I. Berhe, Global Shaper, Addis Ababa Hub. Managing Partner, Addis Capital
Rewina is a graduate from The University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, majoring in Economics. During his time in China, he was an executive officer at Young African Professionals and Students in China (YAPS), an organisation that works to empower Africans in China and build a vibrant, self-reliant and healthy Pan African Community. Rewina now resides in Addis Ababa, where he co-founded Addis Capital, a multi-disciplinary investment service focused on the fast growing Ethiopian market.
34. Sarah Sahel, Global Shaper, Casablanca Hub. General Manager, Maana Travel
Sarah is the General Manager and Founder of Maana Travel, an online travel company expert in designing contemporary Moroccan experiences for curious travellers. Before launching this new venture, Sarah was an Associate with McKinsey & Company covering for Francophone Western Africa and passionate about public development policies. Sarah holds a double Master degree in International Political Economy and Finance from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris. She did her undergrad at Sciences Po Paris, with programs at the Wharton school (UPenn) and the George Washington University. Passionate about improving the quality of life in her new city, Sarah became the Curator of the Casablanca hub
35. Seun Omobo, Global Shaper, Lagos Hub. Consultant, World Health Organization (WHO)
Seun is a pharmacist and a public health practitioner. She is a Consultant at the World Health Organization (WHO) where she offers Technical Assistance to manufacturers and regulators of medicines in the West African Region on the United-Nations. She also consults as the Technical Assistant to the Director-General; National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). She is the founder of the Young Pharmacists Group-Nigeria (YPG-N). She also serves the Program Director (YPG-N) - Professional Travel Grant, one of several capacity building efforts she pioneered for Young Pharmacy Professionals in Nigeria. Seun sits on the executive board of sections of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP).
36. Shabbir Esmael, Global Shaper, Port Louis Hub. Founder and Director, African Neighbourhood Initiative
Shabbir Esmael is a young Mauritian currently involved in an international advisory firm as a Project Manager. He is also the Founder of the African Neighbourhood Initiative, a youth-led organisation engaged in improving neighbourhoods across the African continent. Shabbir has been leading on several projects at community, regional and global level in collaboration with numerous grass-roots as well as international institutions including McKinsey, UNESCO, Global Dignity, World Assembly of Youth, Facebook, Dalberg, ALU, Amnesty International, World Economic Forum and other UN Agencies
37. Sidi Yattara, Global Shaper, Bamako Hub. Consular Program Officer, Embassy of Canada to Mali
Sidi Yattara is currently employed as a Consular Program Officer at the Embassy of Canada in Mali. His primary areas of interest are: development issues as well as sustainability and environmental issues. Prior to this, he served for the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada and for Air Canada as a Toronto based cabin crew member. He’s now orientating his career to create a leading edge coaching and personal development company in Mali.
38. Tafadzwa Sasa, Global Shaper, Lusaka Hub. President, Junior Chamber International ( JCI) Lusaka
Tafadzwa Bete Sasa is a learning and development professional with a focus on Leadership Development for young people and women. She is currently serving as the Local President of JCI Lusaka, her chapter of the global network of young active citizens creating positive change within their communities. For her commitment to serve in leadership and assisting others develop their leadership skills, she was recognized by Moremi Initiative as one of Africa’s 28 Most Outstanding Emerging Women Leaders for 2014.
39. Tekeste S. Negga, Global Shaper, Addis Ababa Hub. Founder & CEO, Akili Media Group
Tekeste is a serial entrepreneur and community organizer who is interested in the role and use of media in addressing social inequalities and injustices. He has a deep passion for designing technology driven solutions that have a positive impact on society. He is Founder of Vingu, a cloud computing company committed to increasing the access to information in developing countries. In 2009, Tekeste founded Young African Professionals and Students (YAPS), the largest pan-African network in China. He graduated from Tsinghua University specializing in Electrical Engineering and Automation. Tekeste currently resides in native Ethiopia where he leads Akili Media Group.
40. ThankGod Okorisha, Global Shaper, Port Harcourt Hub. Senior Field Reporter, Port Harcourt Microscope
He is a trained and certified Broadcaster/Journalist. He currently works with Port-Harcourt Microscope Newspaper as a Senior Field Reporter. In 2014 he was part of the team that organized TEDxYouth@OrdinanceRoad, the only TEDx youth event in West Africa that year. Founder, The Royal Platform; a blog dedicated to showcasing achievers and outstanding individuals in various fields who have gone the extra mile in giving back to society and positively affecting their generation.
41. Tiburce Chaffa, Global Shaper, Cotonou Hub. Founder & CEO, KYMA Ventures
Tiburce Chaffa is serial entrepreneur and business coach that has traveled 20 countries building a stronger generation of entrepreneurs and helping large corporations and public sector to be at the forefront of innovation. Since he returned to the continent in 2014, Mr Tiburce Chaffa has worked with various stakeholders, including MTN and the government of Benin to solidify the tech ecosystem in Africa.
42. Tom Parry, Global Shaper, Cape Town Hub. Chief Learning Officer, Instill Education (Self-employed), Chief Learning Officer
Tom is a co-founder and Chief Learning Officer of Instill Education, an organisation that is looking to rebuild the foundation of teacher training on the African continent. He trained as a teacher in the UK where he spent several years in the classroom, before moving to South Africa to launch and lead an organisation delivering business skills training to micro entrepreneurs in low-income communities. During this time he operationalised a Randomised Control Trial, leading him to realise the importance of research and rigorous monitoring and evaluation. His driving passion is education, and in particular finding solutions to the most pressing education issues of our time.
43. Tommy Deuschle, Global Shaper, Harare Hub. Creative Director/Founder, Emerging Ideas
Tommy has a degree in Business, Oral Roberts University. In 2009, he started two companies: Big Africa, a Webbased referral application; and Cmedia, a video production studio in Zimbabwe featured in the Best of Zimbabwe publication. 2012, co-founded Emerging Ideas. He writes on start-ups for Zimbabwe's largest newspaper, The Herald. Tommy is youth Leader, Celebrate International.
44. Touria Benlafqih, Rabat Hub, Global Shaper Programme Director, Enactus Morocco
Touria is former Administrative and Financial Assistant, programmes on climate change adaptation in oasis areas in Morocco, United Nations Development Programme. Currently, Programme Director, Enactus Morocco, an international non-profit organization in the field of social entrepreneurship; responsible for monitoring and fostering the progress of projects of the 65 teams of social entrepreneurs competing to win the world cup.
45. Tsholofelo Mokgoabone, Global Shaper, Gaborone Hub. Grants Management Assistant, African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnetships
Tsholofelo is a graduate of Economics and Finance from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University. She is currently enrolled for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Tsholofelo is an advocate of financial inclusion and has founded an organisation called Finance First Botswana that promotes financial literacy among Botswana citizens. She is currently the Programmes and Research Coordinator at The Masire-Mwamba Office.
46. Tsholofelo Wechoemang, Global Shaper, Soweto Hub. Founder:Storyteller/Researcher, N and W Publishers
Tsholofelo Wechoemang who is currently the head of Research at Lebone Inspires began her work in the television and film industry, over 20 years ago. Ms. Wechoemang holds a Bachelor degree in Media Studies and International Relations. She is now actively involved in tutoring, mentoring and educating high school students on literacy and the power of civic participation in democracy. She is also creating a mobile app to share African stories for the plurality of African voices in the media
47. Wanjuhi Njoroge, Global Shaper, Nairobi Hub. Founder and CEO, The Web Tekies Ltd & RootEd Africa
The Web Tekies Ltd is a media conglomerate that assists startups, established companies & organizations, individuals as well as groups tell their stories online and offline. Wanjuhi founded RootEd Africa which works with primary schools and the local communities with an aim of eradicating school dropout cases while giving everybody an opportunity to go back to school through ICT and non-curriculum activities such as sports and mentorship. Through Rooted Africa, she has also helped set up the first library in her village and is in the process of setting up an ICT Center. She also sits on the Nyeri County Affirmative Action Social Development Fund (AASDF) committee that targets women, youth and persons living with disability.
48. Youssef Zafri, Global Shaper, Rabat Hub. Co-founder and CEO, Conselcia
Youssef is an international technology and entrepreneurship passionate with experience in Strategy development, Sales and Marketing in both corporate and Non-for-profit sectors. He is the CEO and CO-Founder of Conselcia, a startup that aims at connecting entrepreneurs with key stakeholders in the Middle East and Africa regions. Youssef also works for Ericsson, the world's largest provider of Communications Technology, leading Business Management for North Africa. He previously served as a Regional Director Ibero-America and US for AIESEC International, the world largest youth driven organization.
49. Zamantungwa Khumalo, Global Shaper, Tshwane Hub. Executive Producer, Power FM
Zamantungwa is a Station Executive Producer at talk radio station Power Fm, responsible for leading a group of content producers and overseeing all the content on the station. She is media Director of the Tshwane Hub and has represented South Africa in a number of conferences: United Nations for Model United Nations Debates; the Y20/G20 Delegates’ Summit in Puebla, Mexico; G8/G20 Youth Summits in Washington DC, USA; Civil BRICS Summit in Moscow Russia, inaugural BRICS Youth Summit in Kazan, Russia; BRICS Heads of States meeting. Ufa, Russia. Zamantungwa founded her first non-profit, Teenagers Responsible In Building Ekasi (T.R.I.B.E) at the age of 12.
