Residents of Kafinga Quarters of the old city of Kano were stunned Sunday evening, April 24 when more than dozens of pimps thronged the area to celebrate the wedding of their friend who is believed to have married a man as his bride.

The “gala night” planned to be celebrated had in attendance the notable in their circle and was under the leadership of “Auntie Danladi” the arrowhead of the group.
The celebrants dressed in fashionable fabrics with costume on their faces, having arranged the place and were expecting some invited guests billed to join in “AJO” merriment, an evening gathering traditionally held by royalties at wedding activities in Hausa land.
However, sources at the Kafinga Quarters informed Naij.com that the pimps were celebrating a strange wedding involving same sex relationship and that is what prompted them to report to the appropriate authorities.
Midway into the activities, the events jamboree was disrupted by a combine team of Hisbah personnel who were acting on tip-off from residents of the area.
They arrested scores of the grooms friends and other guests including “Auntie Danladi” for interrogation and subsequent arraignment before a court of law.

Efforts to speak with some of the arrested were not successful, but one Jamilu told our correspondent that it was the works of their enemies that resulted in Hisbah men arresting them and spoiling a “normal” wedding celebration.
Nasidi Bala Rimo, head of special duties operations at the state Hisbah headquarters said they will soon prosecute them to Court in line with the crime they committed.
