The wife of the Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Colonel Hameed Ali (rtd), has been reported dead. Hajiya Hadiza Jummai Ali died in Abuja at the age of 53.

Hajiya was the former first lady of Kaduna state and was survived by her husband, Ali and four children, Leadership reports.
An acquaintance of the Ali family on Monday, October 29, informed newsmen that she will be buried in Abuja on Tuesday, October 30 by 8am after a burial prayer at Annur Mosque.
In his conversation with journalists, Joseph Attah, the national public relations officer of the NCS confirmed the death of Ali’s wife, saying it was a great loss to the family.

Hajiya served as first lady of Kaduna between August 22, 1996 and August 1998 during which time Ali served as military administrator of the state.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Ali had approved the promotion of 775 junior officers to various ranks.
Legit.ng gathered that Ali made the announcement via a statement on Thursday, March 22, by the service public relations officer, Joseph Attah in Abuja. Attah said the promotion was strictly based on merit and took effect from January 1, 2017 as effective date.
