After winning a seat in the Senate for the third consecutive time on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluremi Tinubu, on Thursday, March 14, said she deserved to be a principal officer.
Oluremi won the recent National Assembly election to represent Lagos Central district.
Senator Tinubu, whose husband is the national leader of the APC, spoke in Abuja after she was presented with her certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This Day reports that she said it was time for the women to come together and support each other.
“Wherever God has placed you, the next woman on the street is your sister, is your daughter, is your mother. One is speaking but you are speaking for all.
“The men have to trust us to do that, especially the APC-led administration.
“As it is, women have not been given their fair share and to be the first leader to be reelected for a third term consecutively, the first woman in Nigeria, I think they have to consider what they would give to the woman.
“I believe that I have represented the women folk for over twenty years and they can trust me, my office would be open and then we can move the agenda of the women further and I’m looking forward to that,” she said.
Legit.ng earlier reported that INEC on Monday, February 25, declared Senator Oluremi Tinubu winner of February 23 election in Lagos Central senatorial district.
The returning officer, Oyeyemi Oyedola of the University of Lagos, said Tinubu of the APC polled 131,735. She defeated Onitiri David of the PDP who scored 89,107 votes.

Oyedola said: "l, Professor Oyeyemi Elijah Oyedola, hereby certify that as the retuning officer, Lagos central senatorial district with the election held on 23 of February, 2019 that the election was contested among 14 candidates."
It also reported that Senator Oluremi Tinubu reportedly said that she would love to become the deputy Senate president some day.
