The Lagos state police commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, has ordered the dismissal of a police inspector, Olukunle Olonade, for allegedly killing a 46-year-old official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Agency (LASTMA), Daily Trust reports.
It was earlier reported that Olonade, attached to the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS), Ikeja, was alleged to have shot dead a LASTMA official, Rotimi Adeyemo, who had stopped him when he violated a traffic rule at Iyana-Ipaja in the Alimosho local government area of Lagos state.
Lagos state police public relations officer, Chike Oti, disclosed on Thursday, November 29, that Olonade himself was mobbed by the crowd that gathered after he had shot Adeyemo in the head, killing him.

Oti said although the police inspector didn’t immediately die having been rescued at the scene by a team of policemen, he later gave up the ghost on his way to the hospital.
In a previous report by Legit.ng, Lagos commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, had directed a posthumous investigation into the death of Olonade, who was allegedly killed by an enraged mob after killing the LASTMA official Adeyemi.

A statement obtained from the Lagos police command public relation officer, Chike Oti, said that the unfortunate incident occurred on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 6pm when Rotimi and Olonade were locked into a street assault as a result of violation of traffic law.
Report has it that the police officer, driving in his Toyota Highlander SUV with registration number LSR 277 BJ, was stopped by the LASTMA official at Iyana Ipaja roundabout for contravening the traffic law.
