Real Madrid boss Zidane finally opens up on Gareth Bale's future at the Bernabeu

- Gareth Bale is on the verge of quitting Real Madrid this summer owing to his lack of playing time at the club

- However, his manager, Zinedine Zidane has urged him to exercise patience with him, saying there are many games for him to play in a season

- The 28-year-old is already linked with a move back to the Premier League but this time to team up with Manchester United

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane believes Gareth Bale will remain at the Santiago Bernabeu next season amidst transfer rumours.

The former Tottenham Hotspot hotshot was benched all 90 minutes in Los Blancos 3-0 away win at Juventus in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal first leg clash in Turin.

Two goals from superb Cristiano Ronaldo and one from Brazil defender, Marcelo handed the Spanish League giants an advantage going into the second leg on Tuesday, April 10.

However, Zidane, is hoping that Wales's all-time record goalscorer would stay at the club beyond this season.

"Gareth is like all the others, and for next season Gareth is here just like the other players," he said, via AS.

"What you're getting at is that he's playing less, but it's not like that. There are many games and regardless of how we finish the season Bale is a Madrid player and he's going to stay.

"That's my feeling, at least. Afterwards, as always, you never know what's going to happen with you or the players. We'll see".

The question was then put to Zidane about whether or not Bale was "a bit down at the moment" following his recent lack of starts.

"The players that have played recently have put in great performances, which makes it more difficult and means I have to make a decision.

"If a player doesn't play in a couple of games it doesn't mean anything. He's still an important player, and despite not playing in three games we still have big games coming up".

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer following the reports of his unhappiness over his lack of playing time at the Spanish capital.

Since his move to the Bernabeu in 2013, Bale has scored 65 goals in 120 appearances for Los Blancos, and he is one of the few players that have won three UEFA Champions League titles in the last six years.
